Introduce yourself

Hi all, I'm overeddie and I play D&D.

I'm 43 years old (soon to be 44) a parent of 2, live in Center City and started playing D&D again about 6 years ago. I played a hella lot as a teenager but gave it up when I discovered punk rock and girls. Now those to things have left me cold so I return to RPGs. I currently play in a 4e campaign that, while enjoyable, has me yearning for the simplicity of Old School. So I started this site based on the very successful New York Red Box to see if I can get some old school D&D going in the City of Brotherly Love.

Hi, I'm David and I play D&D.

I'm 38, married with no kids, an ex-pat Brit, and I live just across the Delaware in sunny Collingswood.

I started with Frank Mentzer's red box in the Christmas of 1982 and went on to dabble with lots of other games in my teens. Played Space 1889, Traveller, and Runequest in college — D&D 3.5 most recently. I post on RPG.net (less and less frequently, actually), with the same user handle that I have here.

Outside of D&D, I'm a fan of old school (skool?) and the newer indie rpgs, tabletop miniatures games, and (possibly) board games. I have a strong preference for thin/ concise rulebooks and quick set up, as I want to get to the actual game as quickly as possible!

Hi David. Welcome aboard! Let's see if we can't get this thing started. Are Sundays good for you? Maybe we can organize something for next Sunday, if I can round up 2 or 3 more players. There's a few people not on the boards here that I can get interested.

Sorry for the delay in replying — for some reason, I didn't get a notification when you posted.

Sundays would probably work. My preference is for a shorter session (2-3 hours), if that works for you and any others.

Hi,
My name is Michael and I started playing D&D with the basic Mentzer set in the 80's, from there I moved on to AD&D 2nd ed. and also played some 3rd ed. after a long hiatus(filling the void with Baldurs Gate & TOEE) I discovered the OSR movement(in 2012) and started DMing my own group in January of this year(2013) using Castles & Crusades. I have really been itching to play and hope I can meet up with you guys and gals in the future for some grand adventuring!
